XP Home Edition is essentially the same as XP Pro, the main difference is ability to login to a domain. While you can join a workgroup using Home, you cannot join a domain, this is not an issue for home or most home office users.
If you're an average home PC user then Home is fine if you want to go cheap. You probably won't miss anything off Pro unless you are networking. I personally would go with Windows XP Media Center Edition though. For home use it beats XP Pro and costs less if you want something more than just the basic OS and it also comes with a remote control for playing movies and tunes.
it depends on your usage.. go for xp home if you are a home user. go for pro if your a techie.. but any way xp pro will be better.
dude hi!!!

well according to my personal experience there is no big difference between the both editions. but still if you sit at home and download a lot of stuff then home edition is really perfect.

also you could try installing vista now instead of xp.

its way faster!!

enjoy
whatever XP home has, XP Pro has them all

but with XP Pro, your always in the WORKGROUP

with the HOME edition

your in a DOMAIN
