If you are in India then you can borwse through some of the old 2005-2006 CD/DVD-ROM's of Chip/Living Digital/PC Quest or any other computer magazine available near your place and look for Windows Xp SP2.

The Service Pack 2(SP2) is a single executable file which you have to open and everything happens in an automated manner. But at first it will check whether your product key is genuine or not using its internal database(not Internet).

If it is not genuine then it will simply not install and closes witout any changes to your current configuration. Also you can change your XP product key using software that are avilable in the Internet and again install it it will work. But douing so is illegal and not widely practiced.

If it is genuine then it will update your existing Windows Xp (any version) with some restarts and if you are lucky enough it will be installed without any hickups.

But I have experienced the dreaded Windows "Blue Screen" when some errors occour during SP2 installation %26amp; the performance will be slow compared to the earlier installation. But they have increased the no: of supported devices %26amp; security features. If you have recommended amount of RAM %26amp; ample Hard Disk space then go ahead.

I hope this solves your trouble!
